Environmental Protection Level Certification
Priority should be given to selecting boards that have passed the China Environmental Labeling Certification (Ten Ring Certification), with a formaldehyde emission standard of ≤ 0.08mg/m ³, and the use of water-based coatings and environmentally friendly adhesives is required. In addition, GREENGUARD Gold certification (formaldehyde emission ≤ 0.05ppm) and FSC Forest certification (wood from sustainable forests) are also internationally recognized high standards.
Recommended environmentally friendly boards
Solid wood/bamboo
Natural materials require less use of chemical substances during processing, but attention should be paid to the environmental protection level of the adhesive bonding process. Bamboo has a short growth cycle and is more suitable for pursuing a natural style.
Medium density fiberboard (MDF)
Produced using MDI adhesive or formaldehyde free adhesive, meeting E1 level standards, suitable for making cabinets.
Hexiang board
Made from wheat straw and miscellaneous wood particles, with zero formaldehyde addition, suitable for cabinets and doors.
Multi-layer board
Strong moisture resistance, but attention should be paid to the amount of glue used. It is recommended to choose E0 level environmentally friendly standard products.
Precautions
Avoid choosing density boards (high content of urea formaldehyde glue), ordinary particle boards (low environmental grade glue), or solid wood furniture that has not reached certification, as these products may pose a risk of formaldehyde exceeding the standard.
