One thing you’ll quickly notice about Lightning builds in Diablo 4 is that they depend heavily on crits and Lucky Hits. If you start fresh, you won't have enough of these stats, so your early game feels slow.
Around level 30, with good gear, you can reach 25% crit chance, which is where the build really takes off. Before then, stick to easier difficulty settings or a different skill like Incinerate.
Your main source of damage will be Destructive Chain Lightning, supported by Glinting Spark which restores Mana and increases your critical strike chance. Use Invoked Lightning Spear when it’s available to generate energy and add more damage.
Stay mobile with Mystical Teleport and keep your defenses up with Shimmering Ice Armor. For bosses, activate Supreme Unstable Currents to flood the area with Shock damage buy Diablo 4 gold.

Playing a Lightning build requires understanding when and how to use your skills effectively. At the start, your Lightning skills won’t be very strong because your Lucky Hit and Critical Strike Chance stats are low.
Use Glinting Spark frequently to regenerate Mana and boost your crit chance. This will help keep your damage consistent. Your primary damage comes from Destructive Chain Lightning, which also helps manage your Mana when combined with the right Legendary Aspects.
Mystical Teleport keeps you moving and helps with energy stacks, while Shimmering Ice Armor shields you and regenerates Mana to improve survivability.
For extra damage, use Invoked Lightning Spear whenever it’s off cooldown, and Supreme Unstable Currents to finish off bosses or groups of elite enemies Diablo 4 Items.
It’s normal to feel a dip in power early on, but wait until your crit chance hits ~25% and watch how your damage explodes!
