I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Bill Fudge. Bill is a global health guru - he has indeed saved hundreds of millions of lives. He is also my close friend and mentor, who not only gave me a profound understanding of global health history, but also inspired me with his belief that there is still much we can do to alleviate human suffering.
